Can I get cash back at closing from assistance?
Generally, no.
Assistance programs are built to get you into the home, not to put cash in your pocket. On V1-FAST 100, for example, the only cash back to the borrower allowed at closing is the earnest money deposit.
Anything beyond that gets flagged — and can kill the loan.
